SIZE GUIDE

Case diameter: 38mm
Lug-to-lug: 46mm
Bracelet: 316L oyster link, 18×16mm, ratcheting clasp with on-wrist micro-adjustment
Strap: 18mm elastic parachute strap, quick-release

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR WRIST

Wrap a piece of string or a strip of paper around your wrist, just below the wrist bone. Mark where it overlaps, then lay it flat against a ruler. That's your wrist circumference.

The ratcheting clasp lets you fine-tune the fit on the fly, no tools required. Not sure? Size up — a watch that sits slightly loose is always more comfortable than one that's too tight.

  • The dial

A grainy "sandy" black dial, textured to catch light the way ground does in a low afternoon sun. Applied numerals in Old Radium luminous, painted to match the warmth of aged tritium. A sunken sub-second at 5 o'clock. The dial reads "bausele / RAE", nothing more.

  • The hands

Bead-blasted silver hour and minute hands, filled with SL-Old Radium luminous. A flat sword profile, the kind of hand that disappears in daylight and reappears the moment the light goes. The offset sub dial
for the Seconds was inspired by Walter Peeler’s VC pocket watch that is held by
the RAE Corps museum that has the same feature. The seconds hand sits in the sub-dial at 5, bead-blast silver, no decoration.

  • The case

316L stainless steel, 38mm wide, 46mm lug-to-lug. Fully bead-blasted with an anti-fingerprint coating, matte, no glare. Box sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective treatment. 7mm screw-down crown, 10 ATM water resistance. A Miyota 82S5 automatic inside, chosen for reliability and easy long-term service.

  • UBIQUE — Facimus et Frangimus

The screw-down caseback carries the RAE Corps Cypher and motto. UBIQUE "Everywhere," for serving in every theatre since federation. FACIMUS ET FRANGIMUS "We make and we break." The first 125 are engraved with their edition number, 001/125 through 125/125.

  • The Engineers' Tactical symbol

The Lazy E, represent an Engineer on Military Maps as a symbol, it is the base for all engineer units symbol and this symbol can be modified to denote speciality roles, but the Lazy E is the basis for all Engineer Callsigns. All Army units, can identify on a battle map engineers locations by the Lazy E.

  • Built-in giving

AUD $75 from every RAE 125 sold goes directly to the RAE Fund, supporting current and former sappers and their families. No fanfare, no add-on, it's part of the price. Buy the watch, support the Corps.

This watch started at School of Military Engineering. Holsworthy. A day in the Corps museum, 125 years of tools, photographs and names on the walls, gave the watch its shape. Then months of back-and-forth with the committee. What you see is what we agreed on, together.
